Well Trained Staff
Extra-curricular activities such as horse riding and swimming lessons are available on the school premises.
Staff at Yeshua Academy are well trained in all aspects of the curriculum and how to present it to children with multiple disabilities. Keeping up to date with the latest techniques in teaching children with special needs and how to address their needs effectively is a high priority at Yeshua Academy. In addition to this, all staff are trained in First Aid as well.
Respect
Creativity
We pride ourselves on having an incredibly creative set of young learners, and we give every child the space to realize where they might be headed.
We encourage our students and educators to show a mutual respect to one another within the school. Everyone should be afforded manners and kindness.
In 2014 the founder Leonora realized that children with special needs were in desperate need of a school which could accommodate and care for their specific requirements. Yeshua Acadamy opened their doors in 2014 with the mission of providing adapted schooling and intensive therapy to children between the ages of three to eighteen years who face a variety of disabilities, both physical and developmentally. We aim to ensure that every child, no matter their disability or their socioeconomic background have access to quality education and therapy. We believe that every child deserves the chance to reach their fullest potential.
Through individual objectives determined for each child, we work toward improving every child’s functional prognosis and enhancing their potential to become a functional adult, able to contribute to society in a meaningful way. Through our integrated approach, which includes various interventions, a stimulating environment and caring and committed staff, we aim to enhance the quality of life for our children and their families.

Get to know Leonora...
I was a teacher – mainstream for 21 years – remedial teacher for 12 years when I was called to start a remedial/assisted learning school for learners who do not cope in main stream school due to various reasons. Learners who need assistance due to learning barriers, learners on the spectrum, and those who emotionally just need a more intimate nurturing environment to feel safe when going to school have always been my passion as in government schools they are just passed on or treated like burdens and rediculed by their fellow learners
I started the school in 2014 in faith with only 2 learners after resigning form the department of education and I dedicate my work to God who’s principles we follow as Christian school. I funded it all from my pension money at my home.
My dream is for us to obtain land and to be able to build a school where vocational centers can be built to equip the learners who are not academically gifted, but to be taught a skill in order for them to become full functioning adults.
1 out of 36 children are born autistic and the only school for autism is in Krugersdorp about 18km away. These learners do not have any place to go and while there are a few independent schools available, most are not affordable to the middle class parent – these kids and others, the ones with down syndrome, learning barriers, ADHD, tourette syndrome, asperger kids – need somewhere safe where they can excell and thrive as we all are valuable to God in our own individual way – that is why I continue with what I do –
